Mary Alex Thigpen

<p>Central MS Realtor, Mary Alex&#160;has lived and loved Jackson, since moving to Belhaven at the age of 10, in the house where her parents still live today. She graduated with a B.A. in Public Policy from the University of Mississippi and went on to join Teach for America in Sunflower County where she taught elementary school and met her future husband, Peyton Thigpen, also a TFA corps member who taught 8th grade science in Belzoni. Mary Alex later received an M.B.A. from Millsaps and a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership (Ed.S) from the University of Mississippi. She served as an Assistant Principal at Casey Elementary and then as the Coordinator for Educator Effectiveness at the Mississippi Department of Education. Moving into Real Estate was a natural transition that matched her passion for people, service, historic homes, and community. Mary Alex formerly served on the Board of Leadership Greater Jackson and currently serves on the Vestry of St. James&#8217; Episcopal Church in Fondren and as the President of the Belhaven Garden Club. She is a member of the <em>Central Mississippi</em> REALTORS&#174; and the National Association of REALTORS&#174;. Mary Alex lives in a cute bungalow in the heart of Belhaven with her husband Peyton, a Psychiatry resident at UMMC, and two young daughters, Sally (2) and Alice Anne (4). You can find her jogging on the neighborhood&#8217;s new museum trail, playing with her girls at Laurel Park or enjoying neighbors and their families at the Belhaven Town Center</p>
