Karen Mayer

<p>Karen Mayer has been representing home buyers and sellers of Oahu beach communities for almost 20 years. A graduate of North Carolina's Duke University, she grew up in a small coastal town in Connecticut, giving her a blend of New England's discipline and the southern spirit of cooperation, loyalty and perseverance. She brings her clients a lifetime of entrepreneurial experience, marketing expertise and fierce competitive dedication to getting the job done and doing it right.</p> <p>Karen's ability to close the deal has been perfected through three decades working with her husband, Paul, as they've founded and grown businesses together, always focusing on setting a higher bar and being the best in the market. With over three decades of in-the-trenches marketing expertise, Karen has the finely honed instincts necessary to leverage market knowledge and a deep understanding of the forces motivating buyers and sellers. Among her peers and clients, she is known for her keen valuation instincts, utmost discretion, and her attention to detail in every aspect of the transaction.</p> <p>Karen and Paul's first island purchase was a piece of land on St John, in the USVI, where they planned to build a second home. After moving full-time to Hawaii, they sold that land and began investing in real estate on Oahu. Their Lanikai home is the fourth project they've designed and built together, a testament to their love of real estate and what makes a property a home. While much of Karen's time is devoted to her clients and her family, she can also be found on the tennis courts, enjoying the sunshine and ocean at the beach or walking the Lanikai loop.</p> <p>Travel is an important part of her life, so it's not unusual for her to be negotiating deals while on a ski trip to Canada, Tahoe, or the Rockies, or to be advising her clients while on recent trips to Japan, Croatia, Slovenia or from her vacation home in Italy. It's a big world out there, but she feels fortunate to have Oahu's palm trees and sandy beaches as her home base. It is hard for her to imagine living far from the ocean, and she loves to help others follow their dreams of owning a home near the beach.</p>
