“Six days from listing to sale? Impossible? Not so with our 10-room house built in 1940. We expected our idiosyncratic home of 48 years would languish for months in a slow market “until the right person came along.” Instead, the day after the house was listed during an early March snowstorm, the right party showed up. Four days later we had a sales contract near the asking price -- which was followed by a back offer above the asking price. That was due mainly to the efforts of energetic agent Janice Carter Hall. Despite our initial misgivings, she had us strip the house “nearly naked” and staged it for potential sale to a millennial family. Janice was with us every step of the way, from guiding us through the selling steps to helping remove or sell 50 years of accumulated contents. I cannot imagine anyone else would have been so personally involved to ease the process and expedite such an unexpectedly fast and successful sale.”

“I wanted to take a minute to write some long overdue and well-deserved raves about Janice Carter Hall. Sometimes you know that the person you’re dealing with is exactly the same when she doesn’t know anyone else is watching. You can trust her. That’s who Janice is. After our Mom passed my sisters and I needed to sell Mom and Dad’s house. Mom wanted us to use RE/MAX and my sister knew Janice’s reputation as being excellent so our choice was easy. We contacted Janice and I believe she came out to Mom’s the same day to meet with us. We found out that wasn’t just “first date” behavior on Janice’s part either. That’s the way she was with us the rest of the time we worked with Janice. Any time we needed her in person she was there. We had free flow of text message and phone interaction as we needed direction or question answered. Janice was really the organizer of anything directly or indirectly related to our project with her. She’s very personable down-to-earth and knowledgeable. She brought to the team access to any other third party we needed as things cropped up during the sale. Plumber, check. Electrician, check. Carpet cleaner, check. Power-washer, check. Attorney, check. Painter/sheet rocker/seam taper/leak fixer/all-around-excellent-guy-to-have-for-a-house-sale was in the person of Janice’s husband, Steve, who was pretty much ready to take on whatever it took that made the house fresher, brighter, more appealing. My sisters and I used the local market research that Janice did for us. We then met with Janice and had an interactive conversation to explore the various fiscal AND emotional “what-ifs” that were very important to get right taking care of Mom and Dad’s house. That method involved a huge factor of trust we had In Janice personally and in her expertise and experience. Together we came up with what we hoped was the “right” price for the house. (Maybe here I’m supposed to say “your results may differ”). Anyway, we filed the listing and had 2 solid offers in less than a week. The story doesn’t end there though. Our first buyer stepped away from the deal for his own reasons. That required that Janice help us feel, “That’s OK… that’s just how it goes sometimes”. Without missing a beat Janice got back in touch with the other offer we originally had and navigated that deal back into place and to its successful finish for us. That was summer of 2018. As I’m writing this, I’m aware that I’m the kind of guy that doesn’t really write reviews. I’m also a little distractible. With that said, this has stayed on my mental list of “important things I promise myself I’m going to get to”. Finishing the moldings in the upstairs bedroom has been on that mental list for 20 years. The moldings are still on the list. “Tall everyone how great a job Janice Carter Hall did for us” has been important enough that I can now take it off my mental list of “important things I promise myself I’m going to get to”. Check.”

She had recommendations for professionals to help with any additional work that needed to be done and helped us get the best price we could for our house. She was honest throughout the process and I really value that. I would recommend her to anyone.”
