<p>33 years and literally over twelve-hundred real estate transactions have refined my philosophy down to a few personal convictions:</p> <ol> <li>My job is to work in my clients' best interests, above and beyond all others, including my own. The first question is always, ‘Who do I work for?'</li> <li>I am, in a very real sense, a limited-use attorney – I have one set of contracts that I and my clients live and die by. Real estate transactions are usually the only half-million dollar transactions my clients will ever be involved with, and my job is <em>to protect their interests</em>. So the second question is always, ‘What does the contract say?'<br></li> <li>I believe that you should live your life and do your job so that if someone were to say something bad about you no one would believe it. I believe good karma makes life easier and more pleasant for me and for my clients. My good reputation within the real estate community means other agents look forward to working with me - they are excited to show and sell my listings and are pleased to receive offers from my buyers. Real estate is a win-win industry: we should get to the closing table with a happy seller and an excited buyer – if someone isn't pleased, it's on me.<br></li> <li>I love my job! I know I am making a positive difference in the lives of the people I work with every single day.<br></li> </ol>
